NA All-Star Saturday Night
This past weekend was the all-star weekend for the National Basketball Association. On Saturday, the main events were the three-point contest and the slam-dunk contest. The three-point contest came first. The contestants included Wesley Matthews, Kyrie Irving, Kyle Korver, Marco Bellinelli, Klay Thompson, James Harden, and Steph Curry. The contests all shot three pointers, trying to make as many as possible. Kyrie Irving, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson were the three contestants that made it into the finals with Klay Thompson leading the pack with 23 in the first round. In the finals, Stephen Curry got on fire, hitting 27 three pointers, leaving Klay Thompson and Kyrie Irving in the dust. Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors was the 2015, three-point contest winner. After the three-point contest, came the dunk-contest. The contestants in the dunk contest were Zach Lavine, Victor Oladipo, Mason Plumlee, and Giannis Antetokounmpo a.k.a. "The Greek Freak." In the first round, Zach Lavine and Victor Oladipo impressed the crowd with a reverse-through-the-legs dunk by Lavine and a 540-reverse dunk by Oladipo. Both of them moved onto the finals. Lavine edges out Oladipo in the finals with a behind-the-back dunk. Zach Lavine, the 19 year-old, is the new Sprite slam dunk contest champion.Saturday night was truly entertaining in the NBA and I encourage everyone to watch it next year.
